01. Choosing Tulips

One of my favorite spring blooms actually available year-round but how to purchase for maximum longevity.

Key is to look for the very short stems with the blooms tucked down below the leaves.
Tulips will grow the length of their head every single day after harvest.
So if they are tall, they are older. You want them to be very short tucked down low.

Then when you get them in, just remove any damaged foliage, give them a cut and then drop them into a very deep vase.
Deeper vase will support tulips as they rehydrate and begin to grow.
Or you never even unwrap the packaging, just give them a cut and then drop them right down into the vessel.
So now you know how to keep them fresh as long as possible 🌷
