06. The physical benefits of meditation

We all know that meditation helps us to be calm, relaxed, grateful and positive.
But are they helping physical side, also? The answer is “yes”.

Here are the physical benefits of meditation that proven scientifically.

First, Increase brain thickness: Meditation can increase the quantity and thickness of our brain. This not only makes us more intelligent, it improves our memory, attention, self-awareness and self-control.

Second, Increase blood flow to the brain: More blood means more energy and oxygen which make our brain perform better.

Third, Reduce cortisol and Boost dopamine and serotonin at the same time.  Cortisol is our body’s main stress hormone which causes anxiety and suppress immune system where as dopamine and serotonin are known for happiness hormone.

Meditation also eases muscle tension. Those nights I meditate at the bedtime, I feel like having a great body massage. So I can sleep better that night. This goes to another great physical benefit which meditation helps to slow ageing process.

 

Now we know that meditation has so many benefits for us, there is no excuse not to start, agree?
