12. Water Temperature

We all know proper hydration helps flowers stay fresh, vibrant, and resilient, yes?
But what about the water temperature? Should it be icy cold or cozy warm?

For the hydrating cut flowers, water is typically used at a low temperature.
However, when initially hydrating cut flowers, it is recommended to use lukewarm water at a temperature similar to the human body temperature. (38~40°C)

Putting cut flowers in lukewarm water instead of cold water enables faster hydration, and it is also helpful to keep cut flowers at room temperature until sufficient hydration is achieved.
In cases where cut flowers we bought look really thirsty or when we need flowers to open quickly, we can use slightly warm water to expedite the process of rehydration.
After the initial hydration, it is not recommended to use warm water again. It is more effective to use cold water for subsequent hydration.

Hope this little tip can help you to enjoy your fresh flowers longer !
